Acts VIII-X: System Crash
If Egypt was about escape, Rome is about endurance. Rome represents the "Global Standardization Protocol"—an empire trying to overwrite all local cultures.
The Mechanic: "Standardization"
Roman units have a terrifying passive: Legion.
- Legion: If this unit is adjacent to another Roman unit, both gain Divine Shield. This forces the player to constantly break up the enemy formation. If you let them build a board, they lock shields and become invincible.
Key Encounter: The Siege of Masada
This is widely considered the hardest mission in the game.
- The Setting: You are trapped on a cliff. You have zero card draw. You must win with only the cards in your opening hand.
- The Enemy: The Roman Siege Ramp. A structure card that gains +1 health every turn. If it reaches 20 health, you lose instantly.
- The Hero: Eleazar ben Yair. Ability: The Last Stand.
- Effect: "Destroy all friendly minions. Deal damage equal to their total attack to the Siege Ramp."

This is a brutal choice. To win, you must sacrifice your entire board. It mirrors the historical tragedy of Masada—choosing death over assimilation. Players often describe this mission as "haunting." It proves that card mechanics can convey deep emotional weight.
