🌌 COVENANT CARDS: THE MASTER ARCHIVE (V1-V4)
History is broken. The timeline is corrupted by unseen hands. You are the Tactician. Your mission: Boot up the simulation, collect the ancient code, restore the covenants, and rewrite the fate of the world.
In Covenant Cards, we frame ancient history as a "Cybernetic Simulation." God is the Developer/Architect, and history is the Source Code. Here is the lore behind the first four eras of the game.
Version 1: The Foundations (Acts I - III)
- The Era: Genesis, The Exodus, and the Conquest of Canaan.
- The Cyber-Lore: The player begins as Prince Moses, operating within the
EGYPT_PRIMEsimulation. After a moral divergence, Moses connects to the Divine Mainframe via the "Burning Bush Anomaly." He must execute the Ten Plagues to crash the Egyptian subnet and lead the Israelite data packets through the Red Sea Firewall. - Key Cards: Prince Moses, Pharaoh Virus, Ark of the Covenant, Goliath.exe.
- Gameplay Additions: Introduction of core mechanics—Taunt, Rush, Freeze, and Divine Shield.
- History Lesson: The transition of the Jewish people from a family into a nation forged in the crucible of Egyptian slavery, culminating in David's defeat of the Philistine giant.
Version 2: The Exile (Act IV)
- The Era: The Babylonian Exile.
- The Cyber-Lore: The Temple Mainframe in Jerusalem is destroyed. The player must survive in the belly of the Babylonian machine. King Nebuchadnezzar attempts to force all local networks to assimilate into the Empire via the "Tower of Babel" recursive loop.
- Key Cards: Nebuchadnezzar, Tower of Babel, Daniel in Exile.
- Gameplay Additions: Massive high-health structures and "Board Wipe" mechanics (e.g., Moses, System Admin dealing 15 damage).
- History Lesson: How the Jewish people maintained their identity without a physical temple, choosing to stand in the "fiery furnace" rather than bow to foreign idols.
Version 3: Kings & Prophets (Acts V - VII)
- The Era: The Era of Judges, the Assyrian Siege, and the Persian Empire.
- The Cyber-Lore: The Philistines utilize superior "iron-tier" hardware. Later, Haman the Agagite slips a genocidal virus into the Persian royal system. Queen Esther must execute a dangerous override command to reverse the purge.
- Key Cards: Angel of Death, Sennacherib's Prism, Esther, Haman.
- Gameplay Additions: "Passover Echo" mechanics (clearing hostile processes) and targeted assassination spells.
- History Lesson: The miraculous survival of Jerusalem against the Assyrian siege engine, and the political brilliance of Queen Esther saving her people in Persia.
Version 4: The Roman Purge (Acts VIII - X)
- The Era: The Destruction of the Second Temple, Masada, and the Bar Kokhba Revolt.
- The Cyber-Lore: Rome initiates a "Total Format" of the Judean subnet. As the physical servers burn, Rabbi Akiva and Yochanan ben Zakkai smuggle the Torah out in a coffin-drive to establish "The Cloud Backup." At Masada, Eleazar triggers a manual kill-switch rather than be assimilated.
- Key Cards: Titus The Destroyer, Yavneh Academy, Bar Kokhba, Cloud Backup Protocol.
- Gameplay Additions: "Deathrattle" heavy mechanics (effects triggering upon a card's destruction) reflecting the era of martyrdom.
- History Lesson: The darkest hour of antiquity. The transition from Temple-based sacrifice to Rabbinic Judaism—saving the software when the hardware was destroyed.
